The Moments Left Behind is a coming-of-age drama about friendship, change and endings.
During one final weekend away before adulthood sends them in different directions, a group of university friends cling to the traditions and relationships that have defined their lives. But as breakups, new careers and long-buried fears emerge, the bonds holding the group together begin to fracture. Determined to save what remains, Lucy pushes herself to become the glue holding everyone together.
Forced to confront who they were, who they are becoming, and what they mean to one another, the group ultimately learns that some of life's most meaningful moments reveal their importance only after they're gone.

Director Statement
This film is intentionally not a large-scale blockbuster. Instead, it tells an intimate story about friendship, endings, and change. Like many filmmakers, I have dedicated years to my craft, and I was fortunate to find the right circumstances to direct and produce my first feature film. The production followed a modified Mumblecore approach: most scenes were shot using just one or two angles, and the dialogue was improvised in the moment, guided by a scripted narrative that was rehearsed and filmed over four days.
Ultimately, this film serves as an experiment in low-budget, contemporary, and collaborative filmmaking, testing whether it is still possible to create a micro-budget feature in today’s UK industry climate.
However, the true heart of this film lies in its story. Drawing from my own experiences growing up, and enriched by the actors’ personal histories, we crafted a vivid backstory for this group of friends as they transition into the next stage of their lives, a universal feeling we all encounter throughout our journeys.
My hope is to carry forward the successes and lessons learned from this project, exploring this distinctive modified mumblecore style in future films and using it to support emerging talent, both in the UK and worldwide. Thank you so much for considering The Moments Left Behind.
